What is a Stainless Steel 904L Pipe Fittings
Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability. Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.
We are one of the pioneer suppliers and manufacturers for SS 904L Buttweld Fittings, which is supplied in a range of different conditions / tempers depending on the level of strength required. SS 904L Elbow is chromium – nickel stainless steel and with the addition of titanium, and is resistant to inter – granular corrosion. General corrosion of SS 904L Reducer Pipe Fittings is less than SS 904, and is resistance to a variety of corrosive media. SS 904L Tee Pipe Fittings is used where resistance to inter – granular corrosion is required and where the parts are subjected to sustained heating or cooling within the range of 800 Degree F to 1500 Degree F.
